Envoy and Global Immigration Associates Establish 5-Step Action Plan for Workforce Diversity and Equality

CHICAGO – June, 2020

Mission Statement

Diversity and inclusion are critical to accomplishing our mission of all people achieving their full potential. True diversity underscores our values and the work we do every day for the coalition of cultures, ethnicities and nationalities hoping to reach their potential in a new land. We strive to create a work environment that fosters an open forum and provides our team equal access to opportunities. Our committee is grounded in four tenets: Education, Inclusion, Empowerment, and Activism.

Commitment to Action

In the wake of recent events, Envoy Global and Global Immigration Associates stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. We are outraged at the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and all other victims of police brutality and systemic racism. We recognize that in standing in solidarity with black lives across the globe, we are committing to doing the work required to bring justice and equality to this community. Silence is NOT an option. We must raise our voices now to condemn centuries of condoned violence, injustice and racism. Systemic racism must end for equality to be realized and individual potential to flourish.

Envoy Global and Global Immigration Associates believe in equal opportunities for all people, across the United States and around the globe. Equal opportunity as a human being necessitates anti-racist practices and attitudes, firm commitment to true diversity and inclusion, and continued engagement with our communities. As we serve our clients and partners around the world, we pledge to empower diverse perspectives. We are committed to manifesting the change we hope to see in the world.

We know that more important than words, is taking action. We also know this is a long journey ahead and we are just starting. Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEI) has identified 5 areas that we will focus on:

  1. Workforce diversity. We will duplicate our efforts to ensure our workforce reflects the diversity in our community. We will set measurable goals for the next 3 year to increase the total number of diverse team members and the number of diverse team members in management roles.
  2. Direct support. We will enable and encourage our team members to share their talents. This will include working with organizations that combat racism to support pro-bono legal work, technology education in schools, internships and interview preparation/training.
  3. Contributing. We pledge an initial $25,000 donation to charitable organizations and will continue to provide financial support to organizations that support marginalized communities.
  4. Community service. We will provide employees with an additional day of paid community service. Our DEI Committee will share ideas on specific programs employees can participate in to support marginalized communities impacted by racism.
  5. Listening and Learning. On an ongoing basis the DEI Committee will provide an open forum for our workplace and continue to share feedback on how we can improve our workplace inclusivity and assist communities whose voices are not heard.
